About Fly Fishing Mugs

Hello, my name is Mark Harrison and i have always been interested in fly fishing. I have a little artistic flair so I decided to put the two together and design my own fly fishing mugs. I have no artistic training but I do have a time served qualification in the printing industry and a degree in fish farming which comes in handy for when I have to draw fish. 
I have a preference for working in pencil of which you can see some examples on this page. I also like the challenge of trying to capture the vibrant and varied colours of the many different fly patterns and then seeing these colours set against the white ceramic of the mugs after printing. The printing process is a very finely tuned balance between pressure, temperature and time and uses specialist inks called sublimation dyes. These mugs have a special coating allowing them to be used in all dishwashers, so the image will not fade and the colours will not run. I am hoping to add more mugs in the future as well as introducing some designs on fine bone china mugs. The artwork used is all my own original work and the entire process of printing and design is carried out by myself. I have various ranges including a 'traditional' range using my own artwork and a 'contemporary' range which combines retro, comical and philosophical themed designs incorporating bold graphical images.
